Live-in Care

The Facts

Every year thousands more people go into residential and nursing care because they are unable to be cared for by family or friends:

  • 30% of households have one person living alone (that´s 7 million households)
  • 4.1m people over the age of 50 live alone
  • 55% of people over 50 years old do not have a living relative within a 1/2 hour journey time
  • 14% of all households are single pensioners

What is it?

Live-in Care usually means the provision of a trained, experienced carer who may well be on hand for up to 24-hours a day. In this way a service user can retain their independence knowing that, should they need help, it is there. Live-in Care may be provided for a wide range of service users, from the elderly through to those with physical and/or learning disabilities.

Medico Home Care´s Objective

To provide our service users with peace of mind and reassurance that expert help and assistance will be on hand in their own home, whenever they need it.

How can we help?

Live–in care is probably the most flexible type of homecare and a practical alternative option to a residential or nursing home.

Our services can help my providing assistance in numerous situations, for example:

  • Respite care to relieve a family (informal) carer for just a week or two
  • Longer–term care for weeks or months at a time
  • Care to assist with a hospital discharge; with live–in care as part of a flexible care scheme e.g. daily care visits with some nursing input.
