- Potential applicant sees advert in a newspaper/publication/on a website or
telephones the branch to enquire.
- The branch has a conversation with the potential applicant and invites them
to come to the branch, where the application form, health declaration form and
CRB check information are completed, and referee´s details are taken.
Applicants are also given a letter to advise them about the documents required
at their interview.
- If an applicant is unable to come in to the branch, application packs are
sent to their home but this can lengthen the process.
- It takes between four and eight weeks for a CRB check to return. During this
time, the potentially successful applicant undertakes a three-day induction,
shadows an existing carer and undertakes Moving and Handling training. This means
that the applicant is ready to become a carer for Medico Home Care as soon as the
branch receives a clear CRB check and satisfactory references.
